QINGPU — Shanghai’s AI Stack & YRD Gateway 🤖🌉🇨🇳 If Zhangjiang shows ecosystem formation and Lingang shows industrial scale, Qingpu shows the infrastructure layer behind Physical AI. On July 27, 2026, the Yangtze River Delta AI+ Joint Innovation Center began operations in Qingpu. The ~5,400 sqm facility was jointly developed by Qingpu district, Huawei and ecosystem partners for testing, incubation, application demonstrations and commercialization. Its platforms include OpenHarmony, Kunpeng/Ascend, NearLink and Embodied Intelligence, alongside shared computing services. The center also works with Huawei’s nearby Lianqiu Lake R&D Center, connecting foundational research with application development. Lianqiu Lake is Huawei’s largest global R&D base, with about 2.06 million sqm of built space and more than RMB 10 billion invested. Physical AI needs more than robots. It needs: chips → compute → OS → connectivity → embodied intelligence → commercialization Qingpu is becoming one of the places where those layers connect.
