Daegu: build it, test it

Original media. Embedded text and audio remain in their source languages; this is not a dubbed or translated media edition.

Web editorial adaptation

Daegu's cards separate manufacturing from testing. Dalseong's industrial-robot manufacturing context and KIRIA's Buk-gu testing context are not interchangeable, even though both contribute to bringing machines into use.

The graphic also distinguishes existing testing services from the national robot test-field plan. Its 2027 and 2028 entries are milestones cited from a 2024 plan, not a fresh confirmation that facilities will open on those dates. Current delivery status needs its own update.

The October 2024 National Assembly Budget Office analysis (printed pp. 49–50) records a 2024–2028 project period with pilot operation planned from 2027. It also identifies delayed site selection and design work. This provides the historical basis for the dates, not evidence of completed construction or present service availability. Before planning a trial, ask which facility, equipment and booking process are actually available.

After manufacturing and testing comes the customer's floor: integration, people nearby, uptime and recovery. That is where the three-city series returns to its common question: does it work in the job it was bought to do?

DAEGU — Build It. Test It. Put It to Work. 🤖🇰🇷 A robot leaves the factory. Its next challenge is the customer’s floor. Daegu brings two parts of that story into focus: 🏭 DALSEONG HD Hyundai Robotics and industrial robot manufacturing. 🔬 BUK-GU KIRIA’s testing services, covering performance, reliability and electromagnetic compatibility. The National Robot Test Field is a separate development project. Its 2024 plan targets trial operation in 2027 and formal services in 2028 for real and virtual test environments. B2AGI take: Change the layout. Change the parts. Add people nearby. Does the performance hold? Who handles integration and maintenance? How quickly can work restart after a failure? For Physical AI, the question gets sharper: what do perception, learning and adaptive control actually improve? Pohang: industry and research. Daejeon + Sejong: research and platforms. Daegu: manufacturing and testing. Three starting points.
