SHANGHAI SCIENCE & TECHNOLOGY MUSEUM — Where the Public Meets Physical AI 🤖🏛️🇨🇳 Before robots enter factories, hospitals and homes, they often enter the public imagination. Inside Shanghai Science & Technology Museum, the AI Pioneers exhibition brings humanoid robots, robotic arms, interactive systems and the history of intelligent machines into a public-facing environment. I watched humanoids move, perform and interact only a few meters away. For many visitors, especially children, this may be their first direct encounter with Physical AI. That matters. Physical AI will not scale through better hardware and models alone. It will also depend on how people learn to see, understand, question and eventually work alongside intelligent machines. But an important distinction remains: A robot operating inside an exhibition is not evidence of real-world deployment. A performance can demonstrate movement. A display can communicate possibility. An interactive exhibit can build familiarity. Deployment requires something more: reliability → usefulness → economics → sustained operation B2AGI take: Museums do not prove that Physical AI has reached scale.
